Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting, Magnet-designated and Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
- Telemetry/Step-Down unit caring for cardiac and step-down patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5
- Experience with EKG interpretation and cardiac drips required
- Epic EMR; prior Epic experience required
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration; pending IL license may be accepted for Illinois-based candidates
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry or step-down RN experience required
- Prior Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with EKG interpretation and management of cardiac drips required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and step-down nursing care including EKG monitoring and cardiac drip management
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Parking passes are available for purchase through the facility's Public Safety department at various locations; night shift workers may park in employee parking at no charge
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain placed at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- 13-week contract minimum; longer contracts may be available
