Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Colorado, requiring trauma and neuro experience with Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in a 16-suite Operating Room department
• Common case types include General, ENT, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, and Robotics surgery, averaging 30 cases per day
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (9:00 AM–9:30 PM), with varied scheduling
• Call rotations shared with staff, approximately 120 hours over the 13-week contract, including weekends and holidays as needed
• 4th of July holiday coverage preferred
• Scrubbing is not required for RNs
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Floating is not required; however, in cases of extreme need, float may occur within the local hospital zone
• Two OR techs on shift; charge nurse and house supervisor present on every shift
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Trauma and neuro OR experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility, as confirmed by a valid driver's license
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Candidates must be physically present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Orientation is approximately 12 hours
• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered
• Travelers are expected to float within their assigned zone and are responsible for securing housing that allows them to meet this requirement
