Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center in Colorado, requiring trauma and neuro experience with Epic proficiency.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a 16-suite Operating Room department
- Common case types include General, ENT, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, and Robotics
- Averages approximately 30 cases per day
- Scrubbing is not required for RNs; 2 OR techs are on shift
- Charge nurse and house supervisor are present on every shift
- EMR: Epic
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts (6:30a–7:00p or 9:00a–9:30p), varied days
- Call rotation shared with staff — approximately 120 hours over the 13-week contract, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Floating may be required within Zone 1 in cases of extreme staffing need
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Trauma experience required
- Neuro experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required — no pending certifications accepted
- Epic EMR experience required
- Valid driver's license required
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility (driver's license used to verify permanent address)
Additional Information
- Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required, as a charge nurse and house supervisor are present on every shift
- A unit/department-specific orientation is provided; candidates must be on-site for the orientation week even if initial modules are completed remotely
- 4th of July holiday coverage is preferred
- Travelers are expected to float within their assigned zone and are responsible for securing housing that allows them to meet this requirement
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit or affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the past year are not eligible — candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
