Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Resource Pool (Float Pool) position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units at a Level 1 trauma facility in West Virginia, requiring Epic proficiency and a strong generalist skill set across multiple specialty areas.

• Float pool position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units within an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
• Units include Med/Surg (Stepdown & Floor), Stepdown/Floor, Ortho/Neuro, Trauma & General Surgery, Neuro Stepdown/EMU, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology/Stepdown, and a Long-Term Antibiotic Infusion Unit
• Each unit contains up to 34 beds
• Patient ratios are 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:6 for Med/Surg and Telemetry
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend nights required (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday rotation)
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Epic EMR used; experience is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WV RN license or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong generalist background required across Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference (from a permanent facility if worked within the last 12 months) and one peer or additional supervisor reference (e.g., Charge RN)
• Driver's license and copies of certifications required for consideration
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
• Candidate's address on Driver's License must be more than 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a minimum 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year; once that threshold is reached, a 2-year break is required before returning
• Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
