Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Interventional Radiology position in Peoria, IL, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Medical Imaging department within a hospital setting, supporting Interventional Radiology (IR), CT, General Diagnostic, Sonography, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine
• Patient population spans all ages, including adult and pediatric cases
• Procedures involve conscious/moderate sedation, venipuncture, peripheral catheter insertion, and adult and pediatric catheterization
• Monitoring equipment includes capnography, cardiac output monitors, and arterial pressure monitors
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Schedule: Days, 4x 9-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend shifts on a rotating basis
• Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
• Floating may be required to other system hospital locations within the health network

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• PALS certification (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency with patient monitoring equipment including capnography, cardiac output monitoring, and arterial pressure monitoring
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing interventional case flow and coordinating daily scheduling across IR, CT, General Diagnostic, and Sonography
• Administers medications and conscious sedation in accordance with department policies, including narcotics control and documentation
• Performs daily safety inspections including crash cart, defibrillator, blood oximeter, refrigerator temperature logs, and narcotics logs
• Functions in both circulating tech and scrub assistant roles during procedures
• Educates patients and families on procedures using age-appropriate and culturally sensitive teaching strategies, utilizing the SVI patient education system
• Demonstrates competency in emergency response and caring for critically ill patients independently
• Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning
• RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
