Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Surgical Unit position in Peoria, IL, requiring an active IL RN license and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Position is based on a surgical med/surg unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• Weekend shifts on a rotation basis
• Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
• May float to other Carle Health system facilities, including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital
• Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Basic computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, email, web browser)
• Multicultural sensitivity and ability to communicate fluently in English

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care through the full nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care from admission to discharge
• Performs bedside lab testing and specimen collection in accordance with provider orders and facility policies
• Promotes evidence-based practice and contributes to the professional development of self and team
• Advocates for patients and communicates effectively with physicians and care team members
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment for more than 1 year at any Carle Health location; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
