Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/Progressive Care Unit position in Alabama, requiring ACLS and strong cardiac monitoring skills on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float to Med/Surg units
• Every other weekend required
• Patient population includes cardiac and step-down level acuity cases
• Proficiency required in IV insertion, Heparin protocols, and cardiac drip management (no titration)

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Prior experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, Telemetry, and PCU/Step-down settings required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Ability to manage IV starts, Heparin protocols, and cardiac drips (no titration)
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Prior permanent employment at this facility disqualifies candidates from eligibility

• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible to apply
• Hospital housing is available on-site — shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces; gender-specific units; no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate housing directly with the facility
• The facility is located in a remote area, making on-site housing the most practical option
• Flight reimbursement is available for travel to and from the assignment; economy class only, and detailed flight and luggage receipts are required for reimbursement processing
• Flight itinerary must be submitted one week prior to the start date; the facility will arrange airport pickup for incoming travelers
