Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Medical Stroke unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and night shift availability.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Medical Stroke unit (5N)
• Patient population includes medical stroke, COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, and occasional surgical overflow (e.g., thyroidectomy)
• Unit flexes up to 35 beds with an average daily census of 26–28 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 with 3 PCTs on the unit
• 12-hour night shifts with weekends as scheduled
• Charts using Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BSN not required
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Valid driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• NIHSS certification or prior stroke patient experience is a plus
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year before taking a 2-year break
• 13-week contract
