Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring telemetry experience and current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Med/Surg unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
• Pediatric patients are admitted to this unit in addition to general Med/Surg population
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Schedule: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 AM–6:30 PM)
• Minimum of 3 weekends required per 6-week period, with weekend shifts running 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• On-call assignment is possible based on unit needs
• Floating to other units or areas of the hospital may be required
• Charting system: Meditech
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IN RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS — candidates cannot begin the assignment without a valid PALS certificate
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Ambulatory and Med/Surg experience preferred

Additional Information

• PALS is mandated by facility policy for all Med/Surg RNs due to the admission of pediatric patients to this unit
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; professional appearance is expected
• If a shift is called off, the traveler will be expected to pick up an additional shift to make up for the absence
• Candidates who were directly employed by this facility within the past 12 months are not eligible without prior approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and will be subject to a pay rate differential
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
• Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application
