Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - PACU for a 13-week outpatient reproductive and fertility clinic assignment in Charlotte, NC, requiring Epic proficiency and conscious sedation experience.
Details
- Outpatient procedure suite setting operating similarly to an endoscopy unit, specializing in reproductive and fertility care
- Procedure suite includes 3 PACU rooms, 2 procedure rooms, and 1 room dedicated to awake/oral procedures
- Approximately 5 anesthesia procedures and 4 non-anesthesia procedures performed per day
- Common patient cases include embryo transfers, egg retrievals, hysteroscopies, and occasional D&Cs
- 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with the nurse following the patient through the full peri-op process from pre-op to discharge
- 10-hour day shifts, 0700–1900, 40 hours per week
- No weekend rotation required
- All holidays must be covered
- No floating required
- No on-call responsibilities
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Medication dispensing via Omnicell; IV administration is gravity-based with no pumps
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU or outpatient procedure nursing experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Experience with sedation/conscious sedation and Aldrete scoring required
- Proficiency with IV starts, patient rooming and discharge, and discharge education required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing patients through the full peri-operative process including pre-op, procedure monitoring, PACU recovery, and discharge
- Up to 3 physicians present in the procedure suite during procedures, with supervisory and clerical support always available on-site
- At least 2 weeks of orientation provided
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free on-site parking available
- Close-knit team culture with regular team events and recognition programs
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former employees of any AHSE facility must be separated from a permanent position for at least 1 year before being eligible
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- A clinical interview with manager final review is required
