Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Infusion Therapy position in Pompton Plains, NJ, requiring IV and PICC line experience with a Monday–Friday day shift schedule.

Details

• Infusion Therapy unit within a hospital setting
• Monday–Friday schedule, 8:15am–4:15pm (AM shift)
• 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
• Patient population includes adults requiring infusion therapies such as antibiotics, IVIG, blood transfusions, GI and rheumatoid medications, and iron products
• Procedures include IV starts, PICC line and portacath access, peripheral and central lab draws, and subcutaneous and IM injections
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or compact license with NJ as a qualifying state
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Proficiency starting IVs and working with PICC lines, midlines, and portacaths
• Ability to draw labs peripherally and from PICCs and portacaths
• Experience administering infusion medications including antibiotics, IVIG, blood transfusions, GI and rheumatoid agents, and iron products
• Ability to administer subcutaneous and IM injections
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across a broad age range (pediatric to geriatric)
• Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation in accordance with established guidelines, including patient education records
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and Universal Protocol
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
