Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Medical/Surgical unit in a 562-bed, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (0645–1915)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required of all travelers
- Cerner EMR
- Average daily census of 21 patients
- 13-week contract
- Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; candidates actively in the application process with an ETA to apply will be considered
- BLS certification required; AHA and Red Cross accepted — RQI AHA cards are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, and PICC line management
- Experience with isolation precautions required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO is typically accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Travel pairs are not accepted
- Scrub color: any solid color
- Free parking is available on-site via a permit obtained during orientation
