Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for an outpatient setting in New Jersey, requiring 1-3 years of MRI experience, ARRT (MR) certification, and an active NJ RT license.
Details
- Outpatient medical oncology center
- 8-hour AM shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- Weekend availability required: Saturday through Monday, 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Epic EMR used for charting
- May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital as needed
- No on-call required
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- Graduate of an accredited radiology program
- Active NJ State RT License required (license required if applicable)
- ARRT certification in MRI (MR)
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency with MRI equipment setup including patient positioning and coil placement
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Position patients and place appropriate coils (e.g., head, knee) according to radiologist protocols
- Enter patient history, anatomical scan area, orientation, and positioning data into MRI computer systems
- Adjust scan sequences and configure transmitters and receivers as needed
- Monitor patient safety and comfort via control room window and closed-circuit TV throughout the exam
- Review images on video display to ensure diagnostic quality
- Educate patients on the communication system used during the examination
- Enforce magnet room safety protocols by alerting staff to risks of metal objects near the magnet
- Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before beginning a new assignment at this facility
