Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of acute or surgical experience for a travel assignment at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI.
Details
- Work in a hospital-based radiology department at a 636-bed Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility in Milwaukee, WI
- Department includes 5 diagnostic rooms, 2 fluoro rooms, 1 video swallow room, 2 clinic diagnostic rooms, 3 pain clinic rooms, and 1 dental room
- Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, ED, and procedural cases across all age ranges, with some pediatric patients
- Average caseload of 15–20 patients per tech per day
- Procedures include fluoroscopy (ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, urology cases), OR cases (ortho, general, spine), portables, and general radiology
- Equipment includes GE, Fuji, and Del Medical X-ray systems; GE 9900 and Elite C-arms; Medtronic O-arms; and McKesson PACS
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- 8-hour day shifts with flexible start times typically ranging from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM
- Schedule follows a Monday–Friday rotation with every other weekend; one weekday off the week leading into a work weekend and one weekday off the following week
- One on-call shift per week with call windows: 6:30 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, or 10:30 PM–6:30 AM
- One holiday shift required per contract
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of acute or surgical radiology experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Active ARRT certification and WI license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS required
- Proficiency in surgical/procedure imaging, general radiology, and portable X-ray
- Fluoroscopy experience required, including ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases
- OR imaging experience required, including ortho, general, and spine cases; comfort with O-arm preferred
- Mid-to-high level acute care hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year
- Must provide date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
- Must provide middle name or initial for consideration
Additional Information
- Radiologist on site 24/7, along with RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage around the clock
- Lead tech present on first shift; department staffed with 14 techs on days, 7 on second shift, and 3 on third shift
- Orientation includes facility NEO followed by 7 days of department-specific training
- Fast-paced unit with high patient acuity
- Surgery scrubs provided by the facility
- Free parking available on site
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on demonstrated surgical and procedural skill level
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply
