Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Chest Pain and Stroke Center, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a 207-licensed-bed hospital designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
- Common diagnoses include stroke, CHF, electrolyte imbalance, arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, sepsis, COPD, falls, and MVCs
- RN-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4; CNA coverage at 1:8-10
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, with shift options ranging from 0700–1900 through 1900–0700
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No call responsibilities for travelers
- Floating required to facilities within the region, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, freestanding EDs, and Central Division sites (travelers will remain on the clock when traveling between facilities)
- EMR: Epic; IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: Philips
- Unit equipment includes bladder scanner, IV pumps, SCDs, telemetry monitoring, vents, and BiPAP
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI; TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- General ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drip management, vent management, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and triage experience
- One professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Department support includes CNAs, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team (11a–7p and 11p–7a), resource nurse (as staffing allows), RT (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist coverage
- Orientation consists of NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours cannot otherwise be met
- Scrub color: Navy; parking is complimentary
- Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
