Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Home Health position requiring skilled home care experience with OASIS and infusion skills.

Details

• Skilled home health setting serving Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
• Caseload of 6-8 home skilled visits per day
• Patient population includes cardiopulmonary, wound care, and post-op cases with high-risk diagnoses such as HF, COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
• Day shift schedule with hours varying based on office needs (e.g., 8a-5p or 9a-6p, Monday-Friday)
• May include Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday shift patterns with alternating weekend coverage
• Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on HomeCare office needs
• Uses BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet documentation systems
• Provided with laptop, MiFi for internet access, and portable printer

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of skilled home health experience required (private duty nursing experience alone not accepted)
• Home health experience with OASIS training required
• IV and phlebotomy skills required, including peripheral IV, central line, and PICC/Midline care
• Wound care experience required, including wound VAC management and pressure ulcer staging
• Experience with high-risk diagnoses including HF, COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits
• Must be COVID vaccinated or have exemption on file
• Must have flu shot or declination (mandatory mask wearing required if declined)

Additional Information

• Perform skilled home health visits including cardiopulmonary assessments, wound care, ABI compression dressing, and wound VAC dressing changes
• Provide care including Pleurx/Aseptdrain care, foley catheter change and care, and staple/suture removal
• Administer SQ/IM injections, perform lab draws/venipuncture, and manage PICC line or Midline dressing changes
• Utilize glucometer and pro-time machine for patient monitoring
• Perform SQ port access/deaccess as needed
• Wear solid color scrubs of any color
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate; local candidates within 100 miles accepted at the same rate
• Facility is smoke-free
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually, with all Home Health RNs completing the same training
• Pass/fail EKG exam required (up to 3 attempts allowed)
• Permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning to any BayCare facility as a traveler
• Return travelers currently only accepted in ICU, MICU, CVICU, ED, PCU, and MS/Tele specialties, with a completed contract required within the last year since 7/1/2022
• RTO is not permitted under contract terms; any RTO requests must be resolved directly between traveler and manager prior to submission
