Description
American Traveler is seeking a credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care and Level I trauma experience for a night shift travel assignment at a Magnet, teaching hospital in Washington State.
Details
- Work in a high-acuity respiratory care setting within a 500-bed Magnet, academic Level I Trauma Center
- Patient populations include BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU; unit serves patients of all ages with a generally small pediatric population
- High volume of trach patients, spinal cord injuries, neurologically and medically complex cases, and patients with complex sleep-disordered breathing
- Busy ED with ECLS transfers
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Charting via Epic (hardstop; experience preferred but not required)
- No on-call required
- No floating required
- Block scheduling available
Requirements
- RRT credential required
- Active Washington State respiratory care license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience, including critical care experience within the last 12 months
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Experience with adult trauma and burn patients, both medically and neurologically complex cases
- Proficiency in vent management, monitoring, O2 therapy, and adult ICU care
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required; open to on-the-job training in peds
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience
- BLS certification required
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius requirement
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week; keep RTO requests to a minimum
- The facility cannot accommodate scheduling requests outside of approved RTO
- Prior UW Health system staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
- On-site parking is available for a daily fee; an off-site parking option approximately 1 mile away with weekday shuttle service (5am–10pm) is also available at a reduced rate — additional details will be provided upon placement
