Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) night shift position in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Details
- Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit — this is not a stepdown unit
- Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion
Requirements
- Active RN license in Louisiana or a valid Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the AHA required
- Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related cardiac nursing specialty
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Educates patients, families, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- New hires are onboarded through a preceptor-led orientation with competency validation required within the first 30 days
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the travel pay rate — local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise
- SSN is required for consideration — Canadian SINs are not accepted
