Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a General Sonography position at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center in New Haven, CT, requiring 4+ years of experience and ARRT(M) and ARRT(R) certifications.

Details

  • Work setting is a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
  • Assigned to the General Ultrasound department with rotation across 4 outpatient/satellite sites in the greater New Haven area
  • Site locations include a main campus cancer hospital and three offsite medical centers within 15 minutes of the main hospital
  • Schedule is Monday–Friday with shifts of either 8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 12:00 PM–8:30 PM as needed, plus every other Saturday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • When a Saturday shift is worked, a compensatory weekday off is provided
  • Schedule is posted one week in advance
  • Float between all 4 sites as needed
  • Charting system is Epic
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of Ultrasound/Sonography experience required
  • ARRT(M) and ARRT(R) certifications required
  • Current BLS required
  • Experience with Hologic ultrasound equipment required
  • Trauma center experience at a large facility required
  • State license required if applicable — pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Candidates must live or work more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
  • RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
  • Flu vaccine is required — declinations are not accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
  • Scrub color is teal tops and bottoms
  • Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
