Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a 13-week outpatient physical therapy clinic assignment in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring a minimum of 1 year of OT experience and an active Oklahoma OT license.
Details
- Outpatient physical therapy clinic setting
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Diverse patient caseload including evaluation of independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, and social and psychosocial skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience required
- Active OT license required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification from the AHA required
- Proficiency in organizing and instructing OT activities, interpreting prescriptions, and communicating technical information to patients
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Evaluate patients across multiple functional domains and develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals
- Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices; provide instruction in joint protection and body mechanics
- Assist with discharge planning, including equipment ordering and home therapy instruction
- May supervise OT students
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a new contract, and prior contracts may only be extended once for a total of 26 weeks
- Compliance requirements are strict and must be initiated immediately upon booking; candidates should be prepared to complete onboarding steps promptly
