Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab Prep & Recovery position in Normal, IL, requiring active IL RN licensure, Epic experience, and a minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience.
Details
- Cardiac Cath Lab Prep & Recovery unit in a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule: four 9-hour shifts per week, Monday–Friday, 07:00–16:30, with potential to stay overtime one or two days per week
- Weekend on-call only: 08:00–17:30, every 5th weekend
- Holiday coverage via on-call rotation, 08:00–17:30
- No floating required
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; temporary license accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (both AHA)
- BSN required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include pre-procedure patient preparation, including IV placement, lab verification, and patient shaving
- Assesses, monitors, and removes arterial and venous sheaths post-procedure
- Monitors and cares for patients receiving and recovering from moderate sedation
- Performs point-of-care testing including glucose, ACT/ISTAT, and urine HCG
- Assists physicians and PAs with bedside procedures, including hemodynamic monitoring and specimen ordering
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation in support of the healthcare team
- Candidates who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
- RTO not to exceed 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
- Candidates will be interviewed by the facility leader prior to selection
