Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with dedicated inpatient echocardiography experience, ARDMS or CCI registration, and a minimum of 200 documented inpatient echo cases.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting within a Non-Invasive Services / Cardiac Sonography unit
• Primary focus is performing high-quality adult echocardiography studies in an acute care environment
• Procedures include standard echocardiography, contrast echo, agitated saline studies, valvular assessment with spectral Doppler and Pedoff techniques
• Preferred procedures include TEE, Stress Echo, 3D echo imaging, and advanced cardiac protocols (TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, closure devices)
• Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems are used; familiarity preferred
• Epic is used for charting; familiarity preferred
• 4x10-hour AM shifts per week; schedule is either Sun–Thurs or Tues–Sat, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM
• No on-call required
• May float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• ARDMS or CCI registration as a Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required
• BLS certification from the AHA required
• Active NJ license required if applicable
• Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required, verified by institutional referral
• Strong hands-on inpatient scanning experience in an acute care hospital setting required
• Proficiency in valvular assessment with spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills required
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Prepare patients for examination, explain procedures clearly, and monitor patients throughout the study to ensure comfort and safety
• Review prior imaging reports and patient charts prior to performing studies
• Ensure image quality, study completeness, and appropriate technique, and notify the reading physician of findings
• Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and respond promptly to critical findings is essential
• Maintain records and logs of exams performed and manage inventory and supplies for the assigned area
• ICAEL accreditation standards experience is preferred
• This is a dedicated echocardiography role — candidates with primarily multi-modality or outpatient/satellite ultrasound experience may not be a strong fit
