Description
American Traveler is seeking a night shift RN for a Medical/Surgical unit in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and a valid LA or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- General Med/Surg patient population
- Patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1
- Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM
- Every other weekend requirement
- No on-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active LA RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Educates patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying issues and available resources
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- BSN preferred but not required
- Ceil blue scrubs required
- Position has the potential to convert to a permanent role
