Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult PACU position requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience, with night shift availability and on-call responsibilities.
Details
- Works in an Adult PACU unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Includes 2 on-call shifts per 30-day schedule
- Patients range from simple to complex post-operative cases
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact (eNLC) license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and managing IV infusions and blood products
- Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- BSN is preferred but not required
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (prior extensions are limited to one, for a total of 26 weeks)
- Compliance requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after acceptance — the facility does not allow start date delays due to non-compliance
