Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in New York, requiring an active NY RN license, ACLS/PALS certifications, and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital Emergency Department with 25+ beds including hallway capacity
• Serves patients of all ages; facility is a NYS Designated Stroke Center
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:5
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts; available shift times are 3p-3a or 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Telemetry skills required, including the ability to read rhythm strips
• Experience with drips and ventilators required
• EMR: Epic
• No floating requirement
• Charge nurse support available; charge nurse role is not assigned to travelers
• Nurse aide support available
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license in good standing required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Telemetry skills and ability to read cardiac rhythm strips required
• Experience managing drips and ventilated patients required
• Epic EMR experience
