Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PreOp position in an outpatient surgery center setting, requiring a strong ophthalmology background and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Outpatient surgery center setting located adjacent to the main acute care hospital facility
• PreOp department focused on ophthalmology surgical cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Charting is done via Epic EMR
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 3 years of PreOp or PACU experience required
• Strong ophthalmology background is required — candidates without ophthalmology experience will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with a minimum of 5 years of PreOp experience
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• RN scrub color is Royal Blue
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, and scheduling requests due to secondary employment will not be considered
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
