Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 2 trauma facility in Georgia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and proficiency with Epic.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting at a Level 2 trauma facility
• Patient population spans infants to geriatrics
• OR specialties include trauma (gunshot wounds, MVAs), ENT, general surgery, orthopedic trauma, eye surgery, gynecology (including Gyn oncology), and vascular cases using a hybrid room; Da Vinci robotic surgery experience is a plus but experience with all procedures is not required — no open-heart surgery or organ transplants
• 10 OR rooms with an average daily census of 32 patients
• EMR: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every third weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• On-call approximately 7 days per month, including one rotating weekend per month (24-hour call on weekends) and rotating holiday call; call typically begins at shift end on weekdays

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work 2, with 1 holiday RTO request eligible for review — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• No scheduling requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted day shift schedule is firm
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
