Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for an outpatient infusion cancer center position requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of oncology experience.
Details
- Outpatient cancer center setting serving a diverse oncology patient population including breast, lung, prostate, GI, sickle cell disease, hematologic cancers, and BMT/hematology patients
- Provides IV medication administration, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood product infusions
- Also supports lab and Fast Track functions within the outpatient oncology center
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (7:30–16:00 or 8:00–16:30)
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to other Siteman Cancer Center locations in the area (West County, South County, St. Peters, and Downtown) on a shared rotation with all staff
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of oncology RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Primary duties include port access with lab collection, central line care and dressing changes, SQ/IM injections (GCSF and hormonal), phlebotomy, chemotherapy pump disconnects, vaccinations, and EKGs
- The facility is a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital associated with a Level I Trauma Center; actual work location is the Siteman North County outpatient cancer center, with orientation occurring at the main hospital campus
- Orientation modules must be completed prior to or during the start of the assignment
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days (40 hours) per contract; RTO requests should be submitted at the start of the contract
- Travelers may remain on assignment for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
