Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele (Ortho) position at a Level I Trauma Center in Columbia, SC, requiring strong orthopedic experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- Position is based in an orthopedic Med/Surg unit with floating to MS/Tele units as needed
- Located within a large regional teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 641 licensed beds
- Hospital offers advanced specialty programs including cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where competencies have been demonstrated and documented
- Epic EMR is used; 1 year of experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license in SC or a compact state currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Med/Surg or orthopedic setting within a large healthcare facility
- Strong orthopedic nursing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this night shift position
- Valid driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Charge nurse experience is preferred
- EKG exam must be completed during onboarding due to floating requirements to MS/Tele units
- This is a teaching medical center environment; candidates should be comfortable in an academic hospital setting
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted Prisma Health campus to be eligible; candidates under 50 miles are not eligible for this position
- Two professional references are required for consideration
- First-time travelers will be considered with at least 1 year of qualifying experience
