Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital in South Carolina, requiring strong ortho experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- Primary unit is a Med/Surg Orthopedic unit within a large regional academic medical center
- Floating to other Med/Surg Tele units or campuses is required as needed, limited to areas where competencies are documented
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Epic EMR is used for charting
Requirements
- Active RN license in SC or a compact state currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Med/Surg or Orthopedic unit within a large healthcare facility
- Strong orthopedic nursing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this position
- A valid driver's license and Social Security card are required for consideration
Additional Information
- This is primarily an ortho unit but is classified as Med/Surg Tele due to floating requirements; candidates must be prepared to care for telemetry patients
- An EKG exam will be completed during onboarding
- The facility is a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and a regional teaching medical center with 641 licensed beds
- Advanced specialty programs on site include cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services
- Two professional references are required for consideration
