Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and remote telemetry monitoring experience.

Details

Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
Specialized stroke (neuro) patient population alongside patients with multiple co-morbidities
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
Procedures include feeding tube care and management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and IV starts
Additional clinical skills include CVA management, nasal cannula use, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
Epic EMR — experience is mandatory
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
Floating is required between all health system facilities

Requirements

Active NC RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Prior telemetry experience with remote monitoring is required
Epic EMR experience is mandatory
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance — candidates are allowed two attempts and should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences is enforced
