Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• Day/Night rotation schedule, 36 hours per week
• Medical unit environment with a high-acuity, medically complex patient population including sepsis, infectious disease, acute kidney injury, CKD (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI conditions, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, complex wounds, and acute/chronic respiratory illness including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis
• Unit is part of a nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis center; adult CF patients requiring admission are treated on this unit
• Unit beds range from 25 to 36 depending on assignment area

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting required
• Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomies, and laryngectomies required
• Experience managing IV drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone required
• Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws required
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience managing complex wounds required
• Experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients required
• Two professional references from managers required for consideration
