Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pre-Op/Day Surgery/Phase II Recovery position in San Antonio, TX, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active TX RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a specialty and transplant hospital in San Antonio, TX
- Unit covers Pre-Op, Day Surgery, and Phase II Recovery
- 13-bed unit serving surgical patients including transplant and bariatric cases
- Patient ratios: Pre-Op 1:1; Phase II (Short Stay) 3:1 RN
- Procedures include pain blocks with anesthesia
- EMR/documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM, variable/flexible
- Floating is required per the Methodist Floating Policy, to be discussed during interview
- Call requirements to be discussed during interview
- Weekends to be discussed during interview
Requirements
- Active TX RN license required; compact licenses and temporary licenses are not accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2+ years of hospital or travel nursing experience in Pre-Op and/or Phase II Surgical Discharge
- Pre-Op and Phase II Surgical Discharge experience is required for consideration
- PACU experience is strongly preferred
- Proficient IV skills preferred
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Unit is supported by unit secretaries, PCAs, and phlebotomists
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Dress code includes covered tattoos whenever possible, no visible piercings other than ears, and neat/natural hair and grooming
- Candidates must sign the Methodist Acknowledgement Form prior to or upon starting the assignment
