Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Echocardiogram Technologist for a high-volume hospital cardiology unit requiring ARDMS/CCI registration and the ability to perform 9 studies per shift.
Details
- Cardiology Non-Invasive department in a high-volume hospital setting
- Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients
- Must be able to perform 9 studies per shift
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Shares responsibility for on-call coverage for echo emergency exams outside regular working hours
Requirements
- A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required
- State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required if applicable
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year allied health education program preferred
- 2 years of experience performing echocardiograms preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and manual dexterity skills required
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and at a rapid pace under stressful conditions
Additional Information
- Performs technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams
- Coordinates with interrelated hospital departments including scheduling, patient transport, and billing accuracy
- Assists cardiologists during dictation by preparing and measuring M-modes and relaying pertinent diagnostic information
- Responds to patient needs during exams and reports condition changes to physicians or nursing staff
- Maintains equipment quality control and coordinates repair services as needed
- Logs patients and exams and files patient records
- Participates in departmental and hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities
- Assists with other cardiac procedures as needed
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Local candidates may be considered only when explicitly designated by the facility
- Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment
