Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in New Braunfels, TX, requiring TNCC and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Emergency Care Center (ECC) department within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or through a compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
• Current TNCC certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency nursing or a related specialty
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Current, active copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
• Makes appropriate patient care assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend a New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Initial on-boarding includes organizational entry competency validation and an ED-specific competency validation completed with a designated preceptor
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
