Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring scrub experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and on-call availability in an acute care setting.
Details
- Acute care hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 3 procedure rooms performing approximately 3,000 cases per year
- High-acuity diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath patient population, including TAVR, MitraClip, and peripheral vascular procedures
- Chest Pain Center accredited and STEMI tertiary referral center
- Equipment includes Rotablator, IVUS, Shockwave, Impella, and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
- EMR: Cerner; Merge Hemodynamics used for Cath Lab documentation
- Cardiovascular Techs or Radiology Techs with Cath Lab experience are part of the team
- Intensivist in-house; IV Team, RT, and Pharmacy available 24/7
- Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts, 0700–1930
- On-call required: one night per week and up to every other weekend
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- First to float policy applies
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Cardiac Cath Lab scrub experience highly preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred; Merge Hemodynamics familiarity a plus
- Radiation badge required (supplied by agency)
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked — must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Unit orientation consists of 2 shifts
- Candidates must pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) prior to offer confirmation; candidates who have taken the Relias Dysrhythmia exam within the past 12 months may submit those results
- A pass/fail sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is administered on the first day of orientation
- Candidates who were directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as determined by the address on their driver's license
- A manager interview is required as part of the selection process
