Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med Specialty Step Down Unit position in Oklahoma City, requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step Down experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Details
- Med Specialty Step Down Unit in a hospital setting
- Patients range from those with simple to complex health problems
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- Med/Surg and Step Down experience required; ICU experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg and/or Step Down experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in nursing assessment, care planning, and clinical documentation
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating care with physicians and support staff
- Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
- Previous travelers who have completed a contract at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a new contract (total time worked not to exceed 26 weeks including any extension)
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
