Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (STICU) position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and familiarity with high-acuity surgical and cardiovascular patients.
Details
- 20-bed Surgical ICU (STICU) in an acute care hospital setting
- Typical patient ratio is 2:1, with 1:1 assignments common for higher-acuity patients
- Patient population includes neuro patients with intracranial pressure monitoring, orthopedic trauma requiring traction, post-op open-heart (CABG) patients, open abdominal wound management, and renal patients requiring CRRT
- Cardiovascular device management includes intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, and EKOS
- An ECMO program is planned to launch during this assignment
- Medical ICU overflow patients may be admitted to the unit when sister units are at capacity
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts
- MEDITECH EMR in use
- 17-week contract
Requirements
- Active GA RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU or STICU nursing experience required
- Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with specialized cardiovascular devices (balloon pumps, Impella, EKOS) preferred
- Experience running CRRT at the bedside preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Time-off requests and specific scheduling needs must be established at the time of assignment confirmation
- Cancellation policy allows up to 12 hours every 2 weeks
