Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Inpatient Acute Rehab position in Ogden, UT, requiring a UT or compact RN license and at least 2 years of clinical experience.
Details
- 15-bed Inpatient Acute Rehab unit located in the Medical Office Building (MOB)
- Patient population consists of acute rehabilitation patients participating in intensive therapy programs
- Patient ratio is 1:5 with occasional 1:6
- Unit is staffed with a tech when census reaches 10-15 patients; no unit secretaries; charge nurse is within ratio
- Equipment includes transfer aids (Sara Steady, Hoyer lift), IV equipment, kangaroo pumps for tube feedings, and newly installed cardiac telemetry
- Documentation system: Meditech
- 12-hour night shifts, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- Contract travelers are first to float
Requirements
- Active UT RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN clinical experience in the specialty
- Med/surg nursing background required
- Safe patient transfer and mobility skills required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include ADL assistance, 1:1 patient mealtime support, mobility transfers, Foley care, NG management, and PICC/midline care
- Patients are required to participate in 3 hours of daily therapy with PT, OT, and/or ST per CMS guidelines
- Round with patients each shift and ensure they are adequately prepared for discharge
- NIHSS certification is preferred but not required
- Navy scrubs (top and bottom) required
- Unit is known for strong teamwork and celebrates patient discharges with a hallway "clap out" celebration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
