Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a variable-shift Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Nursery position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and an active Hawaii RN license.
Details
- Obstetrics unit covering Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery (L&D/PP/NSY)
- L&D unit has 8 labor beds; Postpartum unit has 18 beds
- Variable shift schedule with both day and night shifts possible on 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
- Scheduled 12-hour on-call shift required at least once per month
- Charting via Meditech EMR
- Fetal monitoring via GE/Centricity system
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon offer acceptance
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Recommended certifications: STABLE and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Advance FM)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include caring for laboring patients, assisting with deliveries, providing immediate newborn care, and post-delivery care for mothers
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to their assignment start date — this appointment is held at Hilo Employee Health and attendance is mandatory
- Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start in order to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
- COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position
