Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ER Holding Unit position requiring PCU experience, CA licensure, and night shift availability with system-wide float responsibilities.
Details
- Placement in an ER Holding Unit that manages PCU-level patients within the emergency department setting
- Patient population includes cardiac, LVAD, pulmonary hypertension, cancer, respiratory, surgical, and transplant cases
- ICU or IMU/PCU level acuity experience is required for this patient population
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Floating is required across multiple campuses system-wide, including Hillcrest, Jacobs, Thornton, and East Campus
- EMR: Epic (Cerner experience also required)
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
- Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and phlebotomy
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam (up to 3 attempts allowed)
- At least one supervisory or manager reference from within the past year on a relevant unit is required
- A second professional reference from within the past 2 years (charge nurse, co-worker, or educator accepted)

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- No RTO permitted within the first 2 weeks of assignment; all RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be changed after submission
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler, and prior employment must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- No blocked or self-scheduling is permitted
- Self-scheduling is not available for this assignment
