Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery float position at a Magnet, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and AWHONN certification.
Details
- Float position covering Labor & Delivery (L&D), Mother Baby Center (MBC), and OB Special Care Unit (OBSC) based on census needs
- L&D unit features 12 LDRs, 3 ORs, 6 OB triage beds, and 8 OB Special Care beds
- Mother Baby Center consists of 34 postpartum rooms providing care for mothers and newborns; designated Baby Friendly
- Facility serves as a regional referral center for high-risk obstetric care with 100–200 births per month
- Night shift: 7p–7:30a (3x12-hour shifts)
- 3 weekends required per 4-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR used; EPIC experience required
- 632-bed short-term acute care facility
- Free parking available with badge access to the parking garage
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required (compact licenses not accepted in MI; pending licenses accepted if active by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Antepartum experience required
- Experience in a facility with 100–200 births per month required
- Level 1 Trauma setting experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced); AHA certifications preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- AWHONN staffing model is utilized on the L&D unit
- Epic training is completed during orientation
- Pre-start modules are required and vary by specialty
- Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning and should be verified through HR prior to consideration
- RTO must be submitted at the time of application; a maximum of 5 days RTO is permitted per assignment and will not be approved after the contract is signed
- Local candidates are accepted at no radius restriction
- Hunter green scrubs required
