Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level II NICU, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Level II NICU in a 325-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Cares for neonates 32 weeks gestation and above; infants born earlier are stabilized and transported to tertiary facilities
- Patient conditions include RDS, sepsis, NOWS/NAS, feeder/growers, hyperbilirubinemia, hypoglycemia, failure to thrive, and IV antibiotics
- Procedures include IV placement (with VAT team backup), short-term intubation, PPN/Lipids, and EPIV management
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required: may float to Postpartum to care for stable couplets (1–2 orientation shifts provided if no couplet experience) and to Pediatrics at a 1:3 ratio for bili babies, feeder/growers, and failure-to-thrive cases (no acute or respiratory patients)
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with IV placement, PPN/Lipids, EPIV, and short-term intubation support
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for a travel contract
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission — RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied
- Minimal RTO is preferred; significant RTO requests may impact eligibility
- Block scheduling is not available at this time
