Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Orthopedics Med/Surg unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, prior travel experience, and Charge RN experience, working night shifts in a 29-bed orthopedic and med/surg unit.
Details
- 29-bed orthopedic and med/surg unit in a hospital setting serving adult through geriatric patients
- High-volume patient population includes total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and kyphoplasties
- Moderate-volume patient population includes other surgical procedures, inpatient and 24-hour observation medical patients
- Telemetry monitoring available on the unit
- On-unit physical therapy gym allows patients to receive PT without leaving the floor
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Charge RN shifts required as needed
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Charge RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to orthopedic and medical/surgical patients, including post-operative total joint replacement, fracture repair, and kyphoplasty patients
- All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam as part of compliance — two attempts are allowed; study materials are not provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
