Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in Sylva, NC, requiring fetal monitoring competency and night shift availability.

• Labor and Delivery unit in an 86-bed acute care hospital located in Sylva, NC
• Adult and neonatal patient population with a focus on pregnancy-related diagnoses and labor management
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a
• 36 hours per week with rotating weekends
• No call or on-call requirements
• No floating required
• EMR: Paragon

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring — AHA-issued certifications required
• Minimum 1–2 years of L&D experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Competency in reading fetal heart rate tracings required
• Knowledge of labor medications and the labor process required
• Experience performing cervical exams required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

• Responsibilities include monitoring fetal heart rate tracings, administering labor medications, and performing cervical exams
• Unit has 5 beds and is located on the 3rd floor
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Any scrub color is acceptable
