Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for an inpatient acute care setting with a diverse patient population including orthopedic, neuro, and ICU cases.

Details

• Inpatient setting within a Physical Therapy department
• Patient population includes orthopedic (same-day joints and ortho trauma), neurology, medical, ICU, cardiac, renal, oncology, trauma, and stroke
• Typical caseload starts at approximately 10 evaluations; treatment-only days may carry a higher patient load
• Day shift: 08:30–17:00
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• SC LLR PT License required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient evaluation using specialized testing procedures, assessing strength, ROM, coordination, ambulation, transfers, and rehabilitation potential
• Develops individualized PT plans of care with short- and long-term goals based on evaluation findings
• Supervises PTAs and meets regularly to discuss patient progress and goal-setting
• Documentation must adhere to APTA standards of care
• Expected to assist with schedule adjustments to accommodate caseload changes
• Participates in department meetings and educational sessions
• Practices evidence-based care and seeks out current research to support clinical interventions
