Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology Technologist (X-Ray Tech) for a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, with fluoroscopy and surgery experience required.
Details
- Inpatient and outpatient radiology department in a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center
- Patient population includes adults and occasional pediatrics (outpatients/ED)
- Average caseload of approximately 4 patients per hour (40 patients per day)
- Procedures include fluoroscopy, surgery, portable, trauma, and diagnostic X-ray; O-arm experience preferred; DEXA experience is a plus
- Equipment includes GE and Siemens fluoro rooms, Konica DR room, 2 Siemens X-ray rooms, GE and Carestream portables
- EMR: Cerner
- 10-hour mid shifts, Thursday through Sunday, 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
- Floating required within different areas of the main radiology department and throughout the hospital
- On-call is available but voluntary
- Holiday coverage varies per hospital policy
- Scheduling is managed through Smart Square; no self-scheduling
Requirements
- Current BLS and ARRT certification required
- ARRT certification in CT required if performing CT; AL has no state X-ray license — ARRT serves as the equivalent
- CT and/or MRI registry or state license preferred
- Fluoroscopy experience required
- Surgery, portable, trauma, and diagnostic X-ray experience required
- Minimum 1 year of experience considered for strong candidates; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Must provide 1 professional reference from a charge-level position or above from within the past 12 months
- DOB (day and month) and SSN required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Orientation consists of one 8-hour hospital orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit with a day-shift tech
- Scrubs may be any color; free parking is available on-site
- Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
- Interviews are conducted via SimpliFi; candidates should be prepared for a live interview
