Description

American Traveler is seeking a registered Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and Epic EMR proficiency for a night shift contract position in an acute care ultrasound department.

Details

• Hospital-based ultrasound department
• Performs routine and specialized ultrasound examinations across multiple modalities including abdominal, OB/GYN, breast, vascular, and invasive procedures
• Patient population spans all ages
• Night shift, Monday–Friday, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
• 40 hours per week, 5x8-hour shifts
• Holiday rotation required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant ultrasound technologist experience
• Associate's Degree in Sonography or Radiology, or Certificate of completion of a Radiologic Technology program
• Current BLS (AHA)
• One of the following ARDMS credentials required: RDMS-AB, RDMS-OB/GYN, RDMS-BR, RDMS-FE, RDMS-NE, or RDMS-PS
• State license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation including hardware and software
• Ability to perform vascular color imaging, assist with biopsies, and set up sterile fields

Additional Information

• Performs ultrasound procedures independently under radiologist direction, including routine, specialized, and invasive exams
• Responsibilities include preparing patients, obtaining histories, evaluating image quality, and submitting diagnostic exams to radiologists
• Assists radiologists with biopsies, orders labs and pathology under radiologist direction, and documents areas of concern
• Maintains equipment function and troubleshoots issues, reporting problems through appropriate channels
• Supports patient flow and accurate data entry into hospital information system (HIS)
• Participates in QA/QC/QI programs and mentors fellow technologists and students
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year continuously; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
