Description
American Traveler is seeking a registered Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and Epic EMR proficiency for a night shift contract position in an acute care ultrasound department.
Details
- Hospital-based ultrasound department
- Performs routine and specialized ultrasound examinations across multiple modalities including abdominal, OB/GYN, breast, vascular, and invasive procedures
- Patient population spans all ages
- Night shift, Monday–Friday, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
- 40 hours per week, 5x8-hour shifts
- Holiday rotation required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant ultrasound technologist experience
- Associate's Degree in Sonography or Radiology, or Certificate of completion of a Radiologic Technology program
- Current BLS (AHA)
- One of the following ARDMS credentials required: RDMS-AB, RDMS-OB/GYN, RDMS-BR, RDMS-FE, RDMS-NE, or RDMS-PS
- State license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation including hardware and software
- Ability to perform vascular color imaging, assist with biopsies, and set up sterile fields
Additional Information
- Performs ultrasound procedures independently under radiologist direction, including routine, specialized, and invasive exams
- Responsibilities include preparing patients, obtaining histories, evaluating image quality, and submitting diagnostic exams to radiologists
- Assists radiologists with biopsies, orders labs and pathology under radiologist direction, and documents areas of concern
- Maintains equipment function and troubleshoots issues, reporting problems through appropriate channels
- Supports patient flow and accurate data entry into hospital information system (HIS)
- Participates in QA/QC/QI programs and mentors fellow technologists and students
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year continuously; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
