Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring telemetry experience and PALS certification for a night shift contract in Indiana.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
• Medical/Surgical unit that admits pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
• Minimum of 3 weekends required per 6-week period
• On-call assignment is a possibility based on unit needs
• Floating to other units or areas is possible based on hospital needs
• Charting is done in Meditech

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Ambulatory and Med/Surg experience preferred
• Candidates must not have been directly employed by this facility within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• PALS certification must be in hand prior to start — travelers cannot begin without it, as the unit admits pediatric patients per facility policy
• Candidates who live within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and will be subject to a pay rate differential
• Any scrub color is acceptable; professional appearance is expected
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
• Any time-off requests must be disclosed upfront
• If a shift is called off, the traveler will be expected to make it up with another shift
