Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist with ARDMS certification in Abdomen and OB-Gyn to join a hospital radiology/imaging department.
Details
- Hospital-based radiology and diagnostic imaging department
- Performs general sonography procedures including abdominal and OB-Gyn studies, as well as assistance with invasive/interventional procedures
- Uses PACS for image archiving and an EHR for documentation
- Day shift schedule, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 5 days per week (four 8-hour days and one 4-hour day)
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Current ARDMS certification, including Abdomen and OB-Gyn registries (or eligible)
- Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program
- 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with PACS and EHR systems
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform a full range of sonography procedures following department protocols, including initial exam interpretation per protocol
- Assist Radiologists and authorized providers during exams and invasive procedures, including time-out documentation
- Ensure image quality for Radiologist review, archive to PACS, and send images to tele-radiology service after hours as needed
- Participates in image Peer Review and supports ACR accreditation efforts
- Provides supervision and instruction to ultrasound students on clinical rotation and assists in training new staff
- Coordinates patient exams with transport and nursing units while continuously monitoring patients throughout procedures
- Responsible for supply inventory management, equipment maintenance coordination, and staying current on regulatory standards
